Amanda Peet's Eyebrows

Random title, yes I know. But, here is the thing. For exactly one month, I've been growing out my eyebrows.

I look like a wildebeest.

It all started when DF and I watched "2012" about a month ago. Screw the special effects, I kept staring at one thing: the GLORY of Amanda Peet's eyebrows. They are seriously perfect.

See.

I grabbed a mirror and I started to compare mine to hers.

Mine: over-plucked.
Amanda's: groomed.

Mine: odd shape.
Amanda's: perfectly symmetrical.

So here is my experiment. I look awful. But I'm growing them out to see the natural shape God gave me. Which I haven't seen since circa 1995 when someone handed me tweezers.

It's going to be a hard road. But I must travel it in search of eyebrow glory.

Besides...I couldn't grow them out right before the wedding...hello tragedy if they looked awful!

Every time I apply eye-makeup it's not the same. I'm overgrown. I look sloppy. I'm.... so hairy. So unruly. It's shameful.

Oh Amanda Peet. What have you done to me?

Boo-Kay

Ok, ok.... I know it's bouquet. I was just being saucy.

So, I know I want peonies for my bouquet. I just love peonies. Especially when they open up. They are so fragrant and delicate. And I'm so freaking picky- I know I'm going to make my own bouquet if I want to be happy. I've got skills. I can do it.

I've been searching for inspiration. I know I want pink. And I love the half and half style of this bouquet:

I love that. But I'd do pink. Isn't the half and half kinda modern and stunning? It's unexpected and I think if executed correctly, it could be amazing.

My favorite bouquets with peonies so far include the following:

Totally romantic.

And

Hot and spicy

And look, I think carnations get a bad wrap. They are beautiful in a big bunch. And very cost effective. How cheap are carnies? (Well, not carnies, like carnival people, carnies as a slang for carnations.)

But looks how elegant they can look:

Well, minus that weird green stuff.

I honestly just think I'm going to do a trial run. Like, this weekend. Why not? I love flowers, plus I've already dried my preanniversary roses. So we need some flowers in the house. (and by "we" I mean "me") Plus, I've got to do a craft soon or I'm going to lose my mind.

I'll keep you posted if I try and fail....or try and succeed!

I guess I should just pick wedding colors first....or a wedding venue...or a wedding anything. I still have no idea. I'm narrowing things down in my head.

I joked with DF that I'm going to do a power point presentation about what I'd like for a wedding. Not in a psycho way, or a bridezilla way, but man, I think I'm missing the bride gene. So by getting organized, I think it will kick start my planning.

I just need to make a decision and stick to it. If only....

Etsy find

I'm obsessed with Etsy.

Obsessed like Beyonce and Ali Larter in that crap movie.

Moving on...

I just found this from seller gracehesterdesigns:

LOVE.

Must. Get. One. In. Pink. After. Wedding.

She has the prettiest graphic designs. Her Etsy link is:

Honestly, go peek around. Love it all.

I can spend all day looking around Etsy. It's a sickness really.

Planning to Plan

Before DF proposed, we talked a lot about how we would do a wedding when we got married. There was talk of a small, ten person soiree, cost effective and intimate.

Then he put a ring on it. All those ideas went out the window.

I should NEVER have bought bridal magazines.  There were so many beautiful ideas. I loved them all. So now, I am overwhelmed with decisions. In fact, I've changed my mind about what I want about three hundred times. The only things I know for sure:

#1. I want to marry DF.
#2. I want peonies for my bouquet.
#3.
#4.

That's it. That's all I've been able to nail down.

Ladies and gentleman, I'm a deadbeat bride.

DF is being patient and kind. But he really wants to get the ball rolling now that we are in January and 2011 is fresh and ready to be tainted by stressful wedding planning.

I'll make a confession. I always thought I would have my wedding in the house I grew up in north of Boston. My parents lived there for 25 years. Tragedy: they sold our house in 2005 when they moved down to Florida. Parents went to Florida. I went to Seattle.

The thing is, I loved our house. I loved growing up there. I loved the front staircase where we took prom pictures. I loved the huge, flat backyard. I loved our neighborhood and all our neighbors. I was so devastated when they sold our house that I immortalized it by getting my one and only tattoo on the inside of my ankle. It's our house number. (Yes, I am that sappy.)

Permanent heartache.

So the truth is, because I can't get married in the house I grew up in, I don't want to get married anywhere. Or so it seems. Honestly, I would just like to wake up in the morning and poof! be married to DF.

Marriage isn't the problem. Location is.

Plus, my zodiac sign is a Cancer and we are homebodies. I always wanted to get married at a family house and now that's not an option.

So, DF has been gently pushing me to make some decisions. It seems that location is the first thing we need to nail down before we can make any other choices. Now what?

Do we do a ten person wedding and forgo my entire extended family and friends? Or do we go all out and make the guest list 200 people?

Plus cost. More than a wedding day, I'd like a house. We are going to have a wedding day regardless. But if we spend the megabucks, we may have to hold off much longer on buying a house.

Plus the hurt feelings. If I don't have the 200 person wedding, will my friends and family understand?

It's all too much and overwhelming.

I need to start somewhere. By January 31st, I need to give DF and answer. Small and intimate or the big freak show.

Stay tuned.
